Phoenix, pisco cocktail

The World Cup is over. Germany has marched home victorious. Brazilians are still in shock. And we’re left with a back bar litter of South American spirits, dribs and drabs of liqueurs, and a bowl of fruit. Then comes an idea and, lo, from the ashes rises this drink for two.

Phoenix Phoenix vert
4 ounces pisco
2 ounces orange juice
1/2 ounce Drambuie
2 dashes Peychaud’s bitters
1 tablespoon finely diced mango

Place all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with several ice cubes. Shake vigorously for 20 seconds. Strain into chilled cocktail glasses.

Tasting notes: Fruity, zesty and strong.
