Bastille, cognac cocktail

Today, in 1789, French revolutionaries stormed the Bastille, the Parisian fortress and prison. It was an act now celebrated as the opening event in the French Revolution. In recognition, we have pulled together a concoction of cognac, rose vermouth and a few drops of green Chartreuse. Vive la Republique, mes enfants!

Bastille Bastille vert
1 1/2 ounces cognac
1 ounce Lillet Rose
1/4 ounce Green Chartreuse

Pour all the ingredients into a mixing glass with several ice cubes. Stir for 20 seconds, until combined and thoroughly chilled. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Tasting notes: Revolutionary.

Tomorrow: Swing batter…
