We’re beginning to see some early season plums in the market and thought we might offer this fruit-foward, deeply-colored drink for the coming season. The early plums can be a little tart, so adjust the sweetener, in this case simple syrup, accordingly.
Plum de ma tante
1 dark plum, pitted, chopped
2 ounces aged or añejo tequila
1 ounce fresh lime juice
1/2 ounce simple syrup
Muddle the plum in the bottom of a cocktail shaker. Add the remaining ingredients and ice. Shake vigorously. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Tasting notes: Delicate, balanced, delicious.
