Fresh herbs can add interesting and deep bouquet and flavor to cocktails. Oregano and thyme are among the high taste profile herbs. We’ve combined the two in this drink. Do not use a fine mesh sieve when straining: the drink should have flecks of the herbs floating in it.
2 ounces vodka
1/2 ounce sweet vermouth
1/2 ounce dry vermouth
1 sprig of oregano
1 sprig of thyme
Several drops of lemon juice
Put all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Shaker until very cold. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon slice pierced by short sprigs of oregano and thyme.
Tasting notes: Fragrant in more than name, this martini-like cocktail delivers a herb garden in a glass, lifted by the lemon and sweet vermouth.
