Those old magazines in the dentist’s office? Don’t ignore them. This martini-hybrid was found in an issue of Carmel, a magazine promoting the coastal town south of San Francisco at the dentist’s office in 2009. Chambord, a raspberry-flavored liqueur, provides a layer of sweetness and color.
Flirtini
2 ounces vodka
1/2 ounce Chambord
1 1/2 ounces pineapple juice
Add vodka, Chambord and pineapple juice to an ice-filled shaker. Shake until icy. Strain into a tall chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a lemon twist.
Tasting notes: Purists deplore the ’90s and later crop of “Sex in the City” inspired Faux-tinis, but this version of the Flirtini is a pleasant, easy drink.
Tomorrow: Phillips or flat?
