A great drink, for great causes.
Negroni. This is an Italian thing.
You start with Campari, a bright red Italian bitter, designed to be consumed as a digestive. Take it up a notch by combining with with a little soda. Twist of lemon. Que casa! Now mix Campari with sweet vermouth and, presto-pronto, you have created the Americano. Shove on stage one Count Negroni who asked the bartender to add gin to mix and, finalmente, we have the cocktail in his name.
Imbibe magazine and Campari have joined together to sponsor #NegroniWeek, during which participating bars and restaurants donate a portion of each Negroni served June 2-8 to a worthy cause. Bravo!
During Negroni Week we’ll publish several MyDailyCocktails versions of the classic. The only common thread will be the bright red Campari. We preview Negroni Week tomorrow with GVCO, an MDC #ThrowbackThursday original recipe.
Negroni. It’s an Italian thing. Make it your thing, too.
