Hibernia, Irish whiskey cocktail

Enough has been said about St. Patrick of Ireland to fill all the glasses of poitin consumed in the name of all the saints, before and after. So, here’s to himself on the day when the world wears green, gushes Guinness, and the evening descends into generous excess. Tomorrow you can drink to Saint Cyril of Jerusalem, a doctor, who might have prescribed this Irish whiskey and gin blend as a remedy.

Hibernia Hibernia vert
1 1/2 ounces Irish whiskey
1/2 ounce gin
1/2 ounce orange juice
1 teaspoon blueberry preserves

Put all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with several ice cubes. Shake vigorously until thorough chilled. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
