We’ve arrived in England for the start today of London Cocktail Week, a marathon of spirits, seminars, and tastings. More than 250 pubs, bars, and cocktail lounges will be creating and serving their own drinks to those who sign up and shell out to participate in this city-wide party. We’ll be participating in a seminar on Texas craft spirits and a gin tasting at a distillers’ master class.
1 1/2 ounce dry gin
1/2 ginger wine
1/2 pear juice (not nectar)
Pinch of dried coriander
Place all the ingredients in a mixing glass with several ice cubes. Stir evenly until well chilled. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Run a small lime wedge around the rim of the glass and leave on as a garnish.
Tasting notes: Ginger wine adds a hint of spice.
