Southern Comfort, its name tells it all. This American liqueur, made with whiskey flavored spirits, fruit extracts, and spice, was originally created by New Orleans bartender Martin Wilkes Heron in the 1870s. The makers now offer Southern Comfort in a range of enhanced flavors and pre-mixes. This recipe calls for the original.
Comfort Sour
2 ounces Southern Comfort
1/2 ounce lemon juice
1/4 ounce maraschino liqueur
Pour all the ingredients into an ice-filled Old-Fashioned glass. Stir. Garnish with a thin lemon slice.
