Bonnie Ginger, scotch cocktail

This recipe comes from The Bartenders Best Friend, a nifty collection of recipes gathered by Mardee Haidin Regan. She has collected and adapted a wide range of new and classic cocktails from bartenders from Istanbul to San Francisco. Use a good single malt for this.

Bonnie Ginger Bonnie Ginger vert
2 ounces single malt scotch
1 slice fresh ginger, about the size of a nickel (or a £1 coin)
1/2 ounce Velvet Falernum

Muddle Falernum and ginger in an Old-Fashioned glass. Add ice and scotch. Squeeze a lemon wedge into the drink and drop the wedge in the glass. Stir.

Tasting notes: Ginger and Falernum bring spice to the smokey Scotch.
