Here’s a tangy and refreshing aperitif built around white rum to spark your dinner appetite. Stay away from dark versions of rum for this drink; however, you can substitute orange-flavored triple sec or Orange Curacao for the Cointreau.
Petit Fleur
1 ounce light rum (light or white rum)
1 ounce Cointreau or triple sec
1 ounce grapefruit juice
Pour all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with several ice cubes. Shake vigorously. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a grapefruit peel twist.
Tasting notes: Light, refreshing, lovely balance of tangy and smooth flavors.
