The loud hurrahs of “Cinco” have faded but there is still a finger or two left in some of the tequila bottles. If “Drink it, don’t waste it” isn’t a tequila adage, we just made it one. This is essentially a cocktail shaken out of the leftovers.
Two Tequila Rita
1 ounce white tequila
1/2 ounce añejo tequila
1/2 ounce lime juice
1/2 ounce tangerine juice
1/4 ounce triple sec
Pour all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker half filled with cracked ice. Shake vigorously for 15 to 20 seconds. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a wedge of tangerine.
Tasting notes: Solid citrus notes enhance the two-tone tequila.
