Frescolina, mango cocktail

This cocktail, with the lush taste of mango, comes from Salvatore Calabrese’s book “Cocktails by Flavor,” a welcome guide to the use of herbs, fruit and vegetables in cocktails. Mangoes are available year-round in market and what doesn’t make it into this cocktail is great as a breakfast fruit or in a smoothie.

Frescolina Frescolina vert
2 ounces of vodka
1 ounce triple sec
1 ounce mango purée
1/2 ounce fresh lime juice

Add all the ingredients to an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake until well chilled. Pour through a fine-mesh stainer into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a thin wedge of mango.
