This drink falls into the “thirst quencher” class with it’s mixture of rum and ale, splash of citrus, and dash of bitters. To preserve the drink’s airy quality, stir it evenly to keep as much of the ale’s carbonation in the mix.
1 1/2 ounce rum
1 1/2 ounce ale
1/4 ounce orange juice
1 dash Angostura
Pour all the ingredients into an ice-filled mixing glass. Stir evenly several timesPour over ice in an old-fashioned glass. Garnish with an orange wedge.
Tasting notes: Fresh ale predominates, with lift from orange and Angostura, and rum softens the finish.
