Frisco Sour, shaken cocktail

If you live in San Francisco, Frisco is a town in Texas or Colorado. San Franciscans often refer to their hometown as “The City” because, as only they seem to know, there is no other. But they still might like this dressed up version of a whiskey sour, posted this week in honor of Oscar-nominated Cate Blanchett. To find more Academy Award-themed cocktails, click here.

Frisco Sour Frisco Sour vert
1 1/2 ounces bourbon
1/4 ounce B&B (Benedictine and Brandy)
3/4 ounce lemon juice
1 teaspoon simple syrup

Put the ingredients in an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Give it a vigorous shake for 10 seconds. Pour over ice in an old-fashioned glass. Squeeze an orange wedge over the drink and drop the wedge and a stemmed maraschino cherry into the glass.
