Amaretto, a sweet Italian liqueur, is made from flavors extracted from apricot pits or almonds, sometimes both. The lemon gives this a nice balance as a pre-dinner drink.
2 ounces amaretto
1 ounce fresh lemon juice
Put amaretto and lemon juice in an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously and strain over ice into a sour or short old-fashioned glass. Garnish with an orange slice.
