Bushranger, balanced cocktail

This drink is a good example of the balance created by the controlled use of bitters in a cocktail. Dubonnet, a French wine-based aperitif, gets lifted by the stronger alcohol in the rum. But the drink’s separate components are then linked by the dashes of Angostura.

Bushranger Bushranger vert
1 ounce Dubonnet
1 ounce white rum
2 or 3 dashes of Angostura bitters

Stir ingredients over ice in an old-fashioned glass. Enjoy.

Tasting notes: Easy aperitif, smooth neutral pairing for a wide range of appetizers.

Tomorrow: Love it or hate it
