While blended scotch is usually recommended for mixing, this drink calls for an aged single malt scotch. The smoky characteristics of a quality scotch are needed and only a small amount is used. Reach to the back of liquor cabinet for the special bottle.
Lassini
1 1/2 ounces vodka
1/2 ounce dry vermouth
1 teaspoon of single malt scotch
Pour scotch into a chilled cocktail glass. Swirl to coat the glass — leave the scotch in the glass. Pour gin and vermouth into an ice-filled mixing glass and stir evenly for 15 seconds. Strain into the glass. Garnish with a half wheel of lemon.
